Sounds like a fascinating project, Bronwyn! Where do I find out more about you and other people involved in doing this research and producing these reports? I couldn't find anything on the website.

So great to see people carefully and intelligently considering the long-term outlook. Question: Have you discussed the impact of projected global population plateau and decline, which is likely to kick in during the second half of this century? How might this affect our assumptions about economic growth, for example?

Hi Kent, at this time you won't find anyone else doing this sort of reporting at the national level, but you will find it being done at the level of local government (although not to the same degree). National Integrated Planning & reporting is derived from Integrated Planning & Reporting reforms legislated for local government areas in NSW and other states in 2009. Over the next three years ACFP will attempt to broaden the prospects for people and researchers to become involved. We are looking towards establishing a national institute for integrated planning and reporting, possibly in a university. Any assistance you can provide would be great. As to the issue of a projected global population and its effect on growth, Australia Together already includes strategies which reflect on that effect. See Econ01.03.03 and Econ01.04 in Issue No. 9 of Australia Together as examples. The draft plan also considers the effect of economic growth on a sustainable future. Strategies which attempt to balance these things will continue to be revised in future drafts. Should you have some inspiration on that front, please feel free to make a submission via the forms at this link: https://www.austcfp.com.au/make-a-suggestion
