A new series of interviews on the Australia Together Podcast
Talking about our chances of safely making the Vision for Australia Together a reality.
Starting this week, ACFP is launching a new series of interviews on the Australia Together Podcast. It’s all about the ways we can plan and create a better Australia in a safer, sustainable world.
Last month Australian Community Futures Planning launched Issue No. 8 of Australia Together - Australia’s first long term integrated plan for the nation, devised by the Australian community for the Australian community. Over the last four years the drafts of Australia Together have grown so that it now contains over 360 targets and strategies all aimed at helping Australians make the Vision of the plan a reality by 2050 or much sooner.
This new series on the Australia Together Podcast starts with a conversation about the Vision of the plan.

Where did it come from?
We’ll then follow up with a range of interviews with inspiring speakers about some of the vital strategies currently in the draft plan and we’ll talk about the likelihood of making the Vision a reality, and how this can contribute to the fight against the impending dangers of climate change, global poisoning and war.
Can we make the Vision for Australia Together a reality?
Australia Together is getting bigger and stronger as a viable means of securing a better future. But one of the big challenges is to get leaders to read it and follow it.
When people write to me or speak to me about Australia Together it’s become quite apparent to me now that they don’t take issue with the Vision. It just doesn’t seem to start an argument. Instead, my observation is that they go straight to a different question. And that’s to ask how are we going to get governments to take notice of it?
And lately they’re asking how can we get them to take notice of it quickly enough to avoid climate change and all the other threats we’re facing in democratic decline and violent international conflict? They’re asking how can we fix the world before time runs out?
